Overview

Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert, lies south of the majestic High Atlas Mountains. This iconic city in southeastern Morocco is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich historical heritage.

The Kasbah of Taourirt, built in the 18th century using rammed earth (a mix of clay and straw dried in the sun), stands as a masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture. Once the fortified residence of the local pasha, it offers a fascinating glimpse into Berber history and culture.

Not far from Ouarzazate, explore the Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortified red-earth village is a remarkable example of pre-Saharan traditional architecture. Surrounded by defensive walls and reinforced with corner towers, it reflects the architectural brilliance of Southern Morocco and has served as a backdrop for many famous films.

Embark on a cultural and historical journey through the heart of Southern Morocco!
